My name is Ross Fornaro. As manager of Living Waters
I personally oversee the design and construction of every water garden.
Growing up in Carroll County, Maryland, I had a small stream
at the bottom of our driveway, and this is where my interest in water gardens
began. Catching crayfish, minnows, and water snakes, I would spend my day
lifting rocks and identifying the creatures I found.
When I
grew up and moved into my own home I knew I had to have the sound of water in
my landscape. I set out to make a mountain spring, mainly rocks and
water, no fish or plants. Knowing my black lab would jump in the water,
I decided I would use concrete. I dyed the concrete brown and pressed
rocks into it trying to achieve a natural look. It turned out ok but it
still wasn’t the natural looking stream I had played in as a child.
Working at
a lawn care company I would bring in pictures of my “work in progress” to show
the owners. As I learned more about water gardens I found a company that
created a system that took away the headaches of my old style pond.
Aquascape Designs has a system that is relatively simple to install, simple to maintain
and best of all, looked like the small stream I had played in as a kid.
I showed the Aquascape brochure to the owner of the company I worked for and we decided
to install a water feature in his back yard. We created an upper pool
that feed a 25’ stream that dropped into a lower pond. It turned out
really nice and Living Waters was born.
